Chadd Evans, CFA, CAIA
Chadd Evans is the CEO and Managing Director of Altera Investments. Prior to starting Altera, Chadd was Principal of Field Equity, a boutique private equity investment firm focused on the lower-middle market, where he was responsible for executing over $1 billion in transactions. Prior to Field Equity, Chadd was the Senior Vice President of Investments for Ackermann & Co., a commercial real estate investment firm located in the Southeast. Chadd is also a CAIA and CFA Charterholder.
Chadd graduated from the Terry College of Business at The University of Georgia with a BBA in Finance. Chadd has two great children, Wyatt and Daphney, and they live near Chastain Park in Atlanta. You can find them playing soccer at the park and swimming. In addition to spending time with his family, Chadd enjoys playing golf, staying in shape and traveling.
Mitch Reiner, CFP
Mitch Reiner is a Managing Partner of Altera Investments and serves on the Altera Private Access Investment Committee. He identifies three core pillars that define his time and life: family, business and community. Mitch also serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Capital Investment Advisors, a $2.5 billion RIA headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. As COO, Mitch is responsible for the day-to-day operations, as well as driving the strategic initiatives of the firm forward.
Mitch is a proud Georgia Bulldog, graduating from the Terry College of Business at The University of Georgia with a BBA in Finance. He is also a Leonard Leadership Scholar, which is a competitive leadership program in the business school that selects only the top 30 students to collaborate with some of the greatest business minds in the nation.
Mitch was chosen as an originating member of the Atlanta Hub of the Global Shapers organization. The Global Shapers is an organization established by the World Economic Forum which aims to engage the next generation of leaders who will shape the global agenda. His local Atlanta citizenship commitment is evident as Mitch is a member of the LEAD Atlanta class of 2015 and also actively serves on the Executive Committee as President, on the board of the community Arts organization, WonderRoot in Atlanta. Mitch also supports his alma mater as he has previously served as an officer for the Terry College of Business Young Alumni Board and currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Student Managed Investment Fund.
Mitch and his beautiful wife, Jenny, their two great children, Micah and Ayla, and always-popular golden doodle, Clayton live in the Virginia Highland Neighborhood in Atlanta. You can find them strolling North Highland in search of dinner, ice cream or a water bowl for Clayton to drink from on the weekends. In addition to spending time with his family, Mitch enjoys playing golf, staying in shape, attending Braves and Bulldogs games and grilling on the Green Egg.
Wes Moss the host of Money Matters – Atlanta’s longest running live call-in, personal finance radio show – on News 95-5FM and AM 750 WSB. Wes is also the Chief Investment Strategist and a partner at Capital Investment Advisors (CIA). In this role, Wes is responsible for communicating CIA’s position on markets and investments. CIA currently manages more than two billion dollars in client assets, making it one of Georgia’s largest Fee-Only investment firms, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle. In 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017, Barron’s Magazine named him as one of America’s top 1200 financial advisors. Wes was also named one of Atlanta’s 40 Under 40 by the Atlanta Business Chronicle in 2015. At Altera, Wes is responsible for driving the strategic initiatives of the firm forward and sits on the investment committee.
Wes holds a degree in economics from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He lives in Atlanta with his wife and four sons and loves spending time with his family, coaching lacrosse, and playing golf and tennis.
Wes has written several books including Starting from Scratch (Kaplan) and Make More, Worry Less (FT Press) and has served as a financial expert for both local and national media including CNN, CNBC and Fox Business Network. He has been interviewed by USA Today, Forbes, Time, The Wall Street Journal, and Yahoo Finance.
Matt Reiner, CFA, CFP
Matt is responsible for driving strategic initiatives of the firm and sits on the investment committee. Matt Reiner is also an investment advisor as well as a partner for Capital Investment Advisors (CIA). Prior to joining CIA in 2009, he worked with Bank of America in Boston and also with Charles Schwab in Phoenix.
As an investment advisory representative, Matt seeks to help clients reach their investment goals pre-retirement and in retirement. Through a mix of income- and growth-oriented investments, he sets up each individual with a unique portfolio for their particular situation. Matt is also an active participant on the investment committee. In addition to this, Matt also acts as the CEO of CIA’s sister company, Wela, where he manages the day-to-day operations and the overarching strategy for growth. Matt graduated from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ, with a BBA in Finance. Matt is also a CFA® Charterholder and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™.
Although Matt is devoted to his alma mater, he still finds himself supporting his long-beloved Georgia Bulldogs. When not cheering on the dawgs, he’s spending time with his wife, Hillary, and enjoying his other hobbies which include playing golf, coaching little league baseball and staying current with the Braves. Matt is the brother of Mitch Reiner.
David Fershteyn is the Director of Capital Markets at Altera. Prior to Altera, David worked as a Deal Partner at Frisch Capital Partners, an investment banking boutique in Atlanta where he specialized in raising capital for independent sponsors. At Frisch Capital he built financial models, sourced transactions, and packaged unique capital stacks for deals in the following sectors: Consumer Goods & Retail, Business Services and Technology. After spending time at Frisch Capital, David moved to Silicon Valley and worked at Barclays Capital as a Technology Merger & Acquisitions investment banker. At Barclays, David focused on clients within the internet, semiconductor and software verticals. He performed financial analysis and worked on M&A deals, IPO’s and a multitude of debt offerings.
At Altera, David is a part of the investment committee and is responsible for leading the company’s investment access Platform, building firm-wide relationships with investment funds and investors, and providing clients alternative asset investment advisory services.
David grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and attended the Honors College at the University of Georgia, where he received a degree in Banking and Finance. In his free time, David enjoys staying active, spending time with his family and friends. David helps impact the community by consulting small business owners in the Southeast and helping University of Georgia students achieve their career goals.
Scott Sadler, CFA
Scott Sadler is a 30-year veteran of the investment industry. He is the Director of Impact Strategies at Altera Private Access and is the Founder and President of Boardwalk Capital Management, a Certified B Corp wealth management firm focused on sustainable and impact investments.
Scott’s prior experience includes providing wealth management counsel for affluent clients of Goldman Sachs, Bank of America and Wachovia Asset Management across the United States and Canada. At Wachovia, he was also the founder and Lead Manager of a top ranked international (emerging markets) mutual fund.
Mr. Sadler is a graduate of the University of Virginia and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. He is a regular guest lecturer at universities across the region and is on the advisory boards of the University of North Georgia – Cottrell Business School and Montreal-based Will Solutions, an environmental services company. Scott is the Immediate-Past Board Chairman of the Green Chamber of the South, a board member of the Technology Association of Georgia, and a volunteer for the Citizens Climate Lobby. He is married and has three mostly-grown kids.
Julie Newman serves as Altera’s Director of Operations. Her oversight spans human resources, internal accounting, investor relations, and client support. Prior to working at Altera, Julie was Director of Operations for Lindner Capital Advisors, a financial service firm based in Atlanta, where she managed internal operations and built control protocols for the company. Julie has ten years of experience in the financial industry with a proven track-record of increasing operational efficiencies, strengthening customer retention and supporting employee development.
In addition to her work with Altera, Julie volunteers with the Davis Direction Foundation and Must Ministries. During Julie’s free time, she enjoys being active and all things outdoors.
Matt Dattilo is a Vice President of Business Development at Altera. Prior to Altera, Matt worked as a Vice President and Regional Consultant at State Street Global Advisors’ SPDR ETF business. Matt has expertise in serving all Wealth Management Channels including: Broker Dealers, Independent Broker Dealers, Private Banks and Registered Investment Advisors. Before joining Altera, Matt worked with Investment Managers at RIAs in the South East.
At Altera, Matt is focused on building relationships with RIAs and raising awareness for Altera-sponsored funds. Matt grew up in Boston and attended Elon University in North Carolina. He graduated with a degree in Finance and Political Science. While Matt currently resides in Charlotte North Carolina, he has spent time living in both Boston and New York City. Matt enjoys doing almost anything outside including running, hiking, golf and fly fishing. Matt also volunteers at Trout Unlimited, an organization focused on conserving, protecting and restoring North America’s cold-water fisheries.
Carlos Alcala is an Investment Associate at Altera Investments. At Altera, Carlos is a part of the investment committee and is responsible for leading the company’s investment access platform, building firm-wide relationships with investment funds, and providing due diligence on potential investments.
He began his career as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs in New York where he worked in the Natural Resources Group. He then moved to Atlanta where he focused on deals located in the Southeast. After spending time with Goldman, Carlos moved to the Online Strategy Group at The Home Depot where he focused on developing and rolling out enterprise wide initiatives to continue growing one of the largest online businesses in the world.
Carlos grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and attended the University of Georgia where he received a degree in Banking and Finance. In his free time, Carlos enjoys traveling and spending time with his family and friends. Carlos is on the board of Apollo, an underclassmen organization at the University of Georgia that prepares students for careers in the financial industry.
Hailey Wagner is the Investor Communications Manager at Altera Investments. She works with the Director of Operations and Sales team in onboarding investors, distributing investor reporting, and providing exceptional investor services.
Prior to Altera, Hailey was the Client Service and Marketing Communications Associate at International Value Advisers, LLC, an Investment Management firm in New York City. She supported the Sales and Marketing teams with fund marketing materials and all client requests.
Hailey grew up in Marietta, Georgia and graduated from Miami University (OH) with a BA in Mass Communications. She and her husband, Casey, live in Vinings with their son, Brooks and bulldog, Snacks. In her free time, Hailey enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and playing tennis.
Craig White has over 20 years of experience in private markets. As the Head of Research at Altera Investments, LLC, Craig leads the investment team through the due diligence process as well as coordinates the Investment Committee meetings. He was previously the Head of Alternative Credit Strategies for Stafford Capital Partners, in which he was responsible for relationship management, sourcing, due diligence and negotiation for private credit and deep value investments. His investment experience is combined with broad market exposure from conducting research and due diligence across public and private strategies.
Prior to Stafford, he was Private Equity Portfolio Manager for Employees Retirement System of Texas with over $5 billion committed to private equity, secondary funds and co-investments. Craig’s prior experience includes private equity consulting and investment management for global institutional clients of Drum Capital Management, a $1 billion AUM alternative investment firm focused on private credit, distressed debt and special situation investments and Callan Associates, where he was Vice President and Investment Consultant in the Private Markets Consulting Group.
He earned a Master’s in Finance from the Golden Gate University and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the California State University, East Bay. He is married and has three amazing daughters and consistently finds time to stay active running Kennesaw Mountain.
Radford Aldridge is the Managing Director of Real Asset Strategies at Altera. Prior to this role, Radford was the Co-CIO and Director of Research at Chi-Rho Financial, an Atlanta based alternative investment management firm. At Chi-Rho, Radford led all underwriting and portfolio construction efforts across the firm. He has deep industry knowledge of numerous credit, real estate, and event-driven private investment strategies.
Radford graduated from Wake Forest University with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a minor in Entrepreneurship and Social Enterprises. He currently serves on the board of the Atlanta Counseling Center, a non-profit leader in mental health services.
Stephen is the Senior Research Analyst at Altera. Prior to Altera, Stephen worked as an Analyst for Heritage Growth, a private, family investment office focused on serving owner-managers and their companies to accelerate growth and create long-term value. He was responsible for evaluating and executing investments in private companies, and preparing in-depth business, financial and market analyses to support management teams, particularly for add-on acquisitions and business expansion.
At Altera, Stephen will be responsible for working with the firm’s leadership in originating, evaluating, and executing current investment opportunities and new investment process practices. Stephen earned his MBA at Georgia College, with concentrations in Finance, Entrepreneurship and Leadership. While at Georgia College, he received a full scholarship and served as Assistant Coach of the Women’s Volleyball Team which reached the NCAA Tournament in 2016.
Stephen is an active member of Grace Midtown and continues to play and coach volleyball. He enjoys golfing, surfing and traveling to the beach with family and friends.
